Core Philosophy: Zero Telemetry & Local Operation

At CAMMIO Industries, we believe a text editor should serve you quietly without monitoring your creative work or writing habits. ApexEdit operates as a pure native macOS desktop application with zero network dependencies.

ApexEdit does not collect, record, transmit, or monetize your documents, source code, keystrokes, notes, or usage patterns.

AIR-GAPPED BY DESIGN

ApexEdit contains zero analytics frameworks, zero user profiling SDKs, and zero background network pings. The app functions completely without an internet connection.

File Access & Apple App Sandbox Compliance

ApexEdit runs strictly inside the macOS App Sandbox environment enforced by Apple operating systems:

User-Initiated Access: ApexEdit can only open, read, or write to files and folders that you explicitly choose to open using standard macOS Open/Save panels or by dragging and dropping them into the application window.
No System-Wide File Scanning: The app possesses no permission to scan your hard drive, personal documents, photo libraries, or other private folders.
Direct Local Disk Storage: When you save a file, it is written directly to your local file system using native APFS / macOS file system protocols without third-party intermediary servers.

Local Settings, Themes & State Persistence

To deliver a personalized experience across launches, ApexEdit retains your UI preferences locally:

User Preferences: Font selections, line height, tab size, active themes, and custom color slot choices are persisted locally in standard macOS UserDefaults storage.
Crash Recovery & Open Sessions: Transient document states and untitled workspace recovery buffers are stored inside your local sandboxed application container (~/Library/Containers/com.camo.ApexEdit/) to guarantee you never lose work during unexpected restarts.
No Remote Account Sync: ApexEdit does not require an account, username, or cloud profile. All configuration stays on your hardware.
